I have an 11 year old Jack Russell. He has gum disease and had most of his teeth removed so we feed him canned dog food because it’s soft. He eats it pretty fast and then usually throws up 1-2 hours later. It usually looks like it did when it went down. He is also losing weight drastically because he is not retaining what he eats. Otherwise, he is acting totally normal. Any ideas?

The brand of food your feeding him.
If his gum disease was treated and his mouth is healthy now except for having few teeth–you might want to divide his food up into several smaller feedings throughout the day. That way even if he eats quickly, it’s not such a huge meal in his stomach, and he may be able to keep it down.
Talk to your vet though. There may be something else going on with him. Good luck.
